Introduction

Hi My name is Toni. I am 43year old. 2 years ago was the suppose to be a lifetime changer for me. If only I knew now. I would never of went. I decide to go and help in Third world country. I volunteer there for a month at a little school in Ghana. Arriving home to see my family that I desperately missed. three days before I was due to come home I had to leave teachign early as i was unwell. I had aches and pains all over and sweating, severely constipated, as well. I rang the co-ordinator , and it was decided it was just a cold, not malaria. The trip home was extremely long back to the plane. I arrived into Brisbane airport, customs require you collect your luggage, which i did. I then had to carry my extremely overloaded back pack accross to the train. There was no carryalls to help me. So I had to carry it. The maintenance everywhere, by the time I got to end of the plantoon. I was violently vomiting. Not feeling very well, however I had to push on through feeling ill as i had to check in from international air plane to domestic. I went to the toilet and cleaned up. I rang my husband to say I am not feeling really well. I caught the last leg of the plane home, I was so cold just could not get warm, by the time arrived home my teeth were chattering. I had even asked the plane for a blanket but Virgin blue does not have blankets to give you. I arrived home. I finally got myself releived from the constipation except my back began to ache. Then it ran down my leg the pain. I went to my doctor that gave me some cleaning stuff due to the severe constipation, and he prescribed some brufen. Next day back was getting worse. So i went to local accupunturist that does also some form of fascia release. Well I awoke the next morning, unable to climb in my car. My mum rang the ambulance that took me to the hospital. I received some antiinflammatory that were suppossitories. Oh the fun had begun for me. I was released home from the hospital. I went to uni tried struggling through my day at the OT but on the third day for uni as i leant forward to pick up my school books. My back literally went POP , and the pain surged down my leg, to my big toe. Half my leg was numb could not bear weight. this was the 11th Feb, 2011. Ambulance came again and gave me pain releif and took me out the hospital where by the time i arrived at the hospital, they used a spinal board to get me onto thier bed. I had a physio came and visited me in emergency before i even seen a dr. She got me up walking. It was the worst pain i even endured in my entire life. NEver had i ever hate someone as I did this women. To get back in my bed after her was the thing that nightmares are made of, still to this day physiotherapist terrify me. The hospital kept me in overnight. Next day i was sent home, yet i was still in so much pain. I remember getting into the car with absolute agony. This pain has now haunted me ever since. I underwent a foraminotomy and a discectomy on August 21st. I did wake up feeling better that lasted for one month. When i took my daughter up to meet a lady with a horse. The standing around all day, had what they beleive, caused my operation site to swell. Well the right foot dropped by the time i woke up the next morning. The nerve pain now literally affects me from the waist down. I get horrific pain of electric pokers being jab into my vaginal and anus area. I have occasionally had incontinence as sometime that is numb. I have terrible burning in the right leg. The leg goes blue and sweats. The nerve pain has remained constant in the right foot, however now i notice the same nueropathi pain is in the left leg as well, and on real bad flare I have pain in my face, I have pain in my arms. Doctors keep just saying it from my back, however, I can't help wonder if it was something I picked up in the third world country.
